Travel Preparations is way better than I originally thought it was, but there's just so few ways to beat Stalker.

Interesting decision. I don't feel like one is overwhelmingly better than the other. Bat is probably better since it's less of a color commitment, but I chose Chapel Geist because I feel like U/W can make a better stalker deck, with cathars and bonds and etc.

Poopy pack. I could still realistically end up U/B, so I took the rats. Is Desperate Ravings a good reason to go U/R?

I looked at the rats too, but if I'm taking a black card it's Bat. I don't like Rebuke in general so I went with bat.

My only white card so far is another Chapel Geist, so I have to figure I'm going to end up in U/B. Falkenrath Noble is excellent anyway, so I think this pick is not that hard. If I take Rebuke over the Bat earlier, I'd take Chapel Geist here.

I don't feel like the equipments are worth taking over the only colored card that I might play.

Back to white. I love the mob in U/W stitcher's decks, but at this point I'm not sure I'll end up with white as a main color, and I can splash the exorcism if I'm really hurting for effects like that.

If I do end up U/W somehow, this card is excellent. The only other playable card in the pack is Clutches (aside from heroism, which is a worse pick than feeling if I'm taking a white card).

Cards I'm considering: Divine Reckoning, Tribute to Hunger
I don't know how good Divine Reckoning is. I can imagine it being very good if you build your deck around it, but I haven't been doing that so far. On the other hand, I don't think tribute is all that strong. Maybe it's right to ignore both of these cards and take Chapel Geist. Anyhow, I'm still stuck on the value mentality in limited (which I think is becoming outmoded), so I go with the rare.

This is a pretty tough crossroads. At this point I only have two blue cards (Departure and Stalker), and I have mostly black and white cards, so it's looking like I'll end up in B/W, which is a color combo that I dislike. If I take one of the blue cards, I either go U/W or U/B, or some 3 color nonsense, and I'm not sure any of those are right. Still, sticking to my colors means taking Elder Cathar, and that doesn't thrill me. I end up deciding that my black cards aren't really worth it and take Scholar, planning to keep drafting U/W.

Unburial Rites could be awesome with my looters, but my creatures are dookie so far so I quickly rule it out. The dookie creature aspect makes me seriously consider the mauler, but what tips the pick for me is that not only is bonds removal most of the time, it can also help me build a massive stalker.

I still don't like rebuke, and I need guys. This is the kind of pick that could be wrong if I'm not valuing rebuke enough.

I don't have a (good) card in my colors (firmly U/W at this point), so I either have to take a card I might play, or chop something. I think the mask is OK, but I don't really like playing it without guys that I absolutely need to defend, which I have none of so far. Still, I don't plan on playing the Geistflame, so it would be taking it just so I don't have to play against it. What ended up making me cut geistflame was that I had just taken two looters, and I'd rather defend them by cutting geistflame rather than equipping them to a mask (and exposing them to geistflame for a second). I'm willing to admit this could be wrong.

Cards I'm considering: Geistcatcher's Rig, Claustrophobia
I really like Claustrophobia, and Rig would be my most expensive card by far, but I'm still somehow light on creatures and this card has a useful ETB effect. I actually briefly considered the Occultist because my 3 drop spot is so sucky looking, but I don't have a good way to use him so he'd just be a riot devils.

It wasn't until this pick that I noticed all the red flying around. If I was in red earlier, I'd have had a lot of good creatures, but nothing spectacular, and I never felt a strong pull into red. That's why the title of this draft is "when to consider a switch," because I felt like I wasn't getting enough U/W/B cards, but I just plain never considered switching, because even though there was a red card in every pack, it was an underwhelming one.

I'm not really pleased with this deck. I never found enough creatures, and the Divine Reckoning is out of place. I feel like even if I avoided blue because I saw none of it in pack 1, my B/W deck still would have been bad.
Anyway, I instantly lost in round 1 because of a stalker with furor of the bitten in game 1, and a game 2 where I didn't have enough creatures to compete with my opponent never drawing a blank. I wish I would have played another mountain in this deck, because I drew 3 total geistflames in 2 games but never got to cast any of them, and never found myself needing more than WW on turn 3 for geist.
